Silfra dive

Dive and glide between the Eurasian and American continental plates with visibility that can reach over 100 meters. This journey is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you will remember for a long time.

The crystal clear water at this UNESCO world heritage site in Thingvellir national park will leave you speechless. The Silfra fissure is one of the highest rated dive sites in the world. You’ll experience truly amazing views of the colorful underwater landscape, marine life, and geological formations. Silfra’s water, which filtrates from the nearby Langjokull glacier, is fresh, pristine, and drinkable at around 2°C - 4°C year round.

We offer daily trips, including pickup and drop-off in Reykjavík. The total trip time is approximately five hours. The maximum depth of your dive in Silfra will be 18 meters, but the average is around five meters. We’ll guide you through the main Silfra Big Crack, Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon.

Requeriments

Scuba participants must be certified PADI Open Water divers or equivalent and have a dry suit certification or a minimum of ten documented dry suit dives. Divers will need to complete the Silfra medical statement prior to the tour. Divers must:

• Be at least 18-years-old (minors under 18-years-old need a a signature from their legal guardian). Maximum age is 65 years.
• Be able to communicate in English or have a translator
• Be physically fit
• Not be pregnant
• Sign a medical form
• Sign a disclaimer
